Hellooooo 3rd trimester!!!

Tomorrow we will have reached 27 weeks crossing into the third trimester. I have a phone app that counts down by weeks or by days, and tomorrow we will have 92 days left…but who knows it could be less, or more depending on when Lily wants to make her grand appearance.

So I will add some other 3 d pics that I forgot to add from the second time we went to get better shots of her. Let’s just say she loves her hands! She had them up around her face a majority of the time, however we were able to get a few shots without a hand or foot blocking her sweet little face!

Besides the glamour shots, Lily has been pretty busy inside her cocoon! Last night I had insomnia, AGAIN, and just when I thought I would fall asleep Lily decided to move furniture around…most of the time I can sleep though it. Usually this wakes me up but I am able to fall back asleep. Last night was different.

Hopefully I get more rest tonight because I guess the lack of sleep is starting to show. A nurse in one of my accounts was nice to point out the bags under my eyes…thanks.

What else to report….my back, yes my back problems. Man I feel and look like I am 90 years old!! I have still been getting those horrible back pains- most of the time it is just horrible pinching feeling. Last night I leaned over the bed and was swaying back and forth to try and stretch it out. Mike walked in thought I was going into labor!

So the last few days I have not been using my workbag when I go into the offices. I just carry in my computer, keys and any marketing materials to drop off. We will see how long I can really do this and be productive! Today I wore flats for the first time to work and it was fabulous for the first hour, and then even in flats, my feet started to swell. I just kept repeating “93 more days, 93 more days”….

Lil’s room is really looking more and more complete. We have an end table that my mom and I painted the same pink on the walls. I switched out the knob on the drawer for this cute one I got dirt cheap on clearance at Pottery Barn. We put up her butterfly mobile and it is super cute & BIG. I figured she will be able to use this mobile even as she grows to “big girl” status. Yesterday my mom and I hung shelves over her changing table and Mike put together her bassinet my mom got us. She said it was an early birthday present for me, but I know it is a glimpse at how much this child is going to be spoiled. The chair and ottoman that my mother-in-law and sis-in-law got us comes sometime in April and the drapes I ordered are on back order until April 15th…so I have some time before it will truly be a complete room.

What else…well I have only told a few girlfriends this story, but now I can laugh about it. One experience I have had during this pregnancy can come at any moment and has the possibility of being extremely embarrassing! Luckily, it has only happened at home and in front of Mike.

The first time “this thing” happened was when Mike and I were watching tv. And like usual, Mike made some corny, but funny, comment and I laughed out loud really hard.

And then I wet myself….yes people I wet my pants!

Not bad, but enough where I needed to change my underwear!!! That was a good laugh. But now if I sneeze I have to hold my legs together too! So at any point of my day if I laugh too hard or sneeze, I could pee. The other day I was in Target and felt a sneeze coming, I panicked and crossed my legs together. I must have looked ridiculous! Anyways I hope you enjoyed that story and it made you laugh! Can’t wait to share this story with Lily when she gets older!

Lol! Just wait until after she comes! You can't laugh, cough, sneeze, jump…etc without trouble!! it still sometimes happens (rarely though) now. They ain't kidding when they tell you to do your kegel exercises!!

WOW! It looks great! I’m so glad you finished it! Good for you for finishing up a project. It looks so good!!! And you’re right, when you get the time/inclination you can always add the false drawer fronts later.

of course like your web site however you have to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very troublesome to tell the reality nevertheless I will certainly come back again.

I received some sweet gifts in the mail from two fabulous women! My friend Mimi who lives back in the Bay Area sent Lily an adorable outfit with her first hair band & first pair of shoes!!! I can’t wait to dress her up!! And Jen, dear friend and college roomy, sent Lily her first monogrammed item…a super cute pink bathrobe with her name on the back!

Thank you ladies for sending these gifts! Can’t wait to put Lily in them and send y’all pics 😉

already a stubborn child!

We haven’t seen Lily since 22 weeks, and we would not get the chance again until our 30 weeks sono, so being impatient Mike and I made a 3d/4d ultrasound appt.

All morning I could feel Lily move around and was excited that we would get some great shots of her. Boy was I wrong! We got one or two side profile shots and then she turned to face my back. We took a break while I drank some apple juice to give her a sugar high, and she was NOT having it. She would not budge. Major bummer. Since they were not able to get a good shot of her we get to come back at not cost! Cross your fingers people that Lily goes along with this and we get to see her.

I am almost 25 weeks, so she is still really small. When we go back around 31-34 weeks she will have much more fat on her and maybe some chubbier cheeks that I can’t wait to pinch. So here is a side profile snapshot! On the right hand side you can see part of her foot that is raised up. When we first started her hands were blocking her face, her leg was up and her foot was touching her forehead. So flexible. She was breech making it even more difficult to get a great shot.

Lily’s room

Okay so here we go…it has been a while I know since I have updated this thing so be prepared for a couple of posts!!! First up is Lily’s room 😉 Her room used to be a guest room that we coined the “Sesame Street” room…why you ask? Well when we had the room painted I had some green bedding and wanted to have a beige room with a green accent wall. Well when I came home from work and saw the colors I almost died! The beige turned out to be a bright creamy yellow! So we had a yellow and green room for a very loooooong time. It was the room in the house that I hated to show people because of the outrageous color scheme! So I was so pumped to paint this room to shed this major embarrassment!

Now it is Cotton Candy Pink from Sherman Williams….SUPER GIRLY! Her crib and changing table is all put together. The nightstand (that will go next to the rocker & ottoman) is painted pink and my mom and I put the bookshelf together that we got from Ikea. Looking at the closet you can see that I have been a busy mommy getting some adorable outfits. My mom found a bunch of my baby clothes to try on Lily. The dresser that is in the closet was actually mine as a baby. When I was in high school my mom had it painted to a distressed look and it will work perfectly for extra storage.

Next up on my list is finding the right window treatments. I have been taking my time on this, as I do not want buyers remorse. I just ordered her butterfly mobile last night from Pottery Barn Kids and cannot wait for it to come in. I will probably order the chandelier soon too, completing my shabby chic look. I am thinking of doing one of those vinyl decals with her name and place that on the wall behind her crib. We still need to hang the shelves above the changing table and hang pictures above where the rocker will go…. it is really starting to come together!

Often I find myself walking in and peeking at the room. Sometimes I go in and just stare at her things or go through the clothes imaging her in them.

So here is the before painting:

And here it is painted!!!

Her bedding!
