Having Fun With Vase Fillers

source: Pottery Barn

I enjoy switching out fillers for vases periodically to give new life to my rooms. With new seasons and holidays it’s fun to be playful with your home’s décor. Over the years I have amassed an embarrassing collection of glass vases, mason and apothecary jars filling two large shelves in my garage! Every once in awhile I will purge a few, but it’s empty place gets filled later on with a new find from Pottery Barn or Home Goods.

August is just around the corner so the holiday season will be here before you know it! This year I’m going to have more fun with all my glass pieces and the their fillers. I haven’t decided what I will do so I started putting together a list (I told you before I am a compulsive list maker!) of various objects.

There are simple items from the pantry like pasta, beans and rice that you can fill apothecary jars with and display them on your kitchen counters or above cabinets. I have three glass containers in my bathroom that hold Q-tips, cotton balls and face pads. It gives the bathroom a simple and clean appearance (plus it gives me more space in my drawers!). Have a game room or a den just for the boys? How about filling an empty glass bottom lamp with golf balls or tees? The possibilities are endless! So enjoy this list and have fun!

I think I pinned this! What a great list, Amy!!! I know you told me before, but I can’t recollect what you said about what program you use for things like this. Illustrator? Photoshop? I’ve been thinking about purchasing one for this purpose (making pretty graphics for my blog) but I’m clueless. Any insight would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks Elizabeth! I use Illustrator to create these graphics and thankfully have been given some pointers from my friend, Emily. This program can do so much and I am slowly learning all the amazing features!

We have a game room with a ping pong table so I have a canister filled with colored ping pong balls and then we also have a microwave so another has the microwaveable popcorn packets in it. Something to possibly add to your list. 🙂
