With our first tropical storm of the hurricane season, its safe to say summer is here! I loved reading all of the comments yesterday chalked full of awesome summer bucket list ideas. (BTW giveaway winner to be announced at noon today!)
Lily slept in until 9:40 am Thursday…guess I have to thank Tropical Storm Andrea for the soothing rain sounds and Lily’s outrageous tantrums from her ear infection that wore her out. Yesterday I was able to enjoy TWO cups of coffee and finish our family summer bucket list.
Summer bucket lists are fun….if you make them. Don’t worry about making a huge list of 50 to 100 options. I have 28 ideas and many of them can be done together….like a family picnic and visiting a new park.
These are just ideas to help break up the summer and create great family memories. We all have ideas on what we would like to do or visit during the summer, so why not make a list. If you have older kids it could become a fun activity where they get to pick! Remember to make it a ‘family’ list and refrain from adding clean out garage or organize attic to the list. Yes I need to do those, but attempting this with a two year old…nope.
Among all of the comments the first one got me crying. It was from my oldest childhood friend, Shauna, who is about to become a mom for the first time. A few months ago I shared her journey to parenthood and their choice to adopt. I’m thrilled to announce that she and her husband Chris will be welcoming a baby girl later this month! Her summer will be filled with so many amazing moments! Hugs to you Shauna!
